North London Modernist house
Using walnut-veneered plywood, this North London Modernist house has been transformed into a cohesive and functional living space thanks to the bespoke furniture designed and manufactured by Uncommon Projects, in collaboration with Studio 54 Architects and Kate Blee Studio.
The ground floor kitchen has a sleek galley layout with a small table and chairs beside the window for informal dining. The kitchen flows seamlessly into the formal dining and living areas, which lead to a cozy snug for watching TV. The living area features a combination of open and closed storage shelving, with different coloured doors used to distinguish the various zones.
The master suite, located on the first floor, extends across the entire back of the house. The large wall of wardrobes in the bedroom is separated by a walnut bed surround, creating a stunning focal point. The book ledge above the bed is equipped with mood lighting, while the doors to the master bathroom cabinetry are finished in pale pink laminate.
Also located on the first floor, at the front of the house, is a study with wall-mounted desks and wardrobes. On the second floor, there are two more bedrooms, with one doubling as a second study and featuring a luxurious pull-down double guest bed. Both bedrooms offer ample storage with wardrobes, and linoleum veneered plywood steps lead to an external terrace. Overall, this North London whole house is a testament to the power of bespoke furniture to bring cohesion and functionality to any living space.
